言惟溫和、如調以鹽、則知所以應對人矣、○

凡荼毒、忿怒、怨恨、諠譁、訕謗、並諸暴很、宜悉去之、彼此仁愛、慈惠、赦宥、如上帝緣基督赦爾也、

蓋人之怒、非成上帝之義也、

惟爾處世、須合乎基督之福音、使我或就爾、或離爾、得聞爾事、即爾堅立於一心一志、為福音之道而戰、

惟聖神之果、乃仁愛、喜樂、和平、恆忍、慈惠、良善、忠信、

要之、僉宜同心、體恤、友愛、慈憐、謙遜、

悉以謙遜溫柔恆忍、以愛相恕、以和平相維繫、務守聖神之合一、體一、神一、如爾蒙召之望為一、主一、信一、洗一、上帝一、為眾人之父、超乎眾、貫乎眾、在眾中者也、

昆弟翕合同居、何其美善兮、

去惡行善、尋求和平、而追隨之兮、

我以新誡予爾、令爾相愛、如我愛爾、爾亦相愛也、爾若相愛、則人皆識爾為我徒也、○

門徒默然、因其爭辯孰大也、

我以此命爾、使爾相愛、世若惡爾、爾知其先已惡我、
