但我告訴你們，凡看見婦女就動淫念的，他在心裡已經犯了通姦罪。如果你的右眼使你犯罪，就把它剜掉！寧可失去身體的一部分，也比整個人下地獄好。

但是為了基督，我從前以為有價值的，現在認為毫無價值。不但如此，我看萬事都毫無價值，因為認識我主基督耶穌最寶貴。我為祂失去了一切，我把失去的一切視為垃圾，好得到基督，

我可以為你們作證，如果可能的話，你們那時就是把眼睛剜出來給我，也心甘情願。你們當初的喜樂哪裡去了？

「愛父母過於愛我的人不配作我的門徒；愛兒女過於愛我的人不配作我的門徒；不肯背起他的十字架跟從我的人不配作我的門徒。試圖保全自己生命的反而會失去生命，但為我捨棄生命的反而會得到生命。

女人見那棵樹上的果子可口，賞心悅目，可以使人有智慧，就摘下來吃了。她也把果子給跟她在一起的丈夫，他也吃了。

「若有人要跟從我，就要愛我勝過愛他的父母、妻子、兒女、弟兄、姊妹，甚至自己的生命，否則就不能作我的門徒。

「我跟自己的眼睛立了約，決不貪看女色。

求你使我的眼目遠離虛空之事，按你的旨意更新我的生命。
