那些屬於基督耶穌的人，已經把肉體與肉體的渴望和情慾一同釘上十字架了。

所以，當把你們屬世的各個部分看為死了的，就如淫亂、汙穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像。

因此，我們既然有這麼一大群見證人，如同雲彩圍繞著我們，就讓我們脫去各樣的重擔和容易纏累我們的罪，藉著忍耐去跑那擺在我們前面的賽程，

因為你們如果順著肉體而活，就將死去；但如果順著聖靈治死身體的所作所為，就將活著。

這恩典管教我們，使我們拒絕不敬神的事和地上的欲望，在今世能過自制、公義、敬神的生活，

相反，你預備宴席的時候，要邀請那些貧窮的、殘疾的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的，

他手裡拿著揚穀的杴，要揚淨他的打穀場，把他的麥子收進倉庫，卻把糠秕用不滅的火燒掉。」

「奴僕回來把這些事報告給主人。那家的主人就發怒，吩咐奴僕說：『趕快出去，到城裡的大街小巷，把那些貧窮的、殘疾的、瞎眼的、瘸腿的，都帶到這裡來。』

有一大群人來到他面前，帶著瘸腿的、瞎眼的、殘疾的、聾啞的還有許多其他人，把他們放在耶穌腳前；耶穌就使他們痊癒了。結果眾人看見聾啞的說話，殘疾的康復，瘸腿的行走，瞎眼的看見，都感到驚奇，就榮耀以色列的神。

然而我不斷克制自己的身體，使它服從我，免得我傳道給別人，自己反而經不起考驗了。
