And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.

As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.Elisha saw this and cried out,“ My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his garment and tore it in two. (niv)

They replied,“ Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.” (niv)

At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me,“ Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.” (niv)

For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. (niv)

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (niv)

He said to them,“ This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (niv)

“ But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set.If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?” (niv)

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, (niv)

And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said.He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. (niv)

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care,trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow.It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things. (niv)
