Suddenly, two men were talking with him— Moses and Elijah.They appeared in glory and were speaking of his departure, which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.

As they continued walking and talking, a chariot of fire with horses of fire suddenly appeared and separated the two of them. Then Elijah went up into heaven in the whirlwind.As Elisha watched, he kept crying out,“ My father, my father, the chariots and horsemen of Israel!” When he could see him no longer, he took hold of his own clothes, tore them in two,

They answered,“ John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, that one of the ancient prophets has come back.”

Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me,“ Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold firmly to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted for them the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures.

He told them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe my words?”

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.

So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the LORD’s word.He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab facing Beth-peor, and no one to this day knows where his grave is.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated.They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he testified in advance to the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.
