耶穌坐而訓十二徒曰：『欲居先者、當居其殿、為眾供役。』

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Jesus sat down and called for the 12 disciples to come to him. Then he said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. They must be the servant of everyone.”

And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them,“ If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said,“ Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”

Sitting down, he called the Twelve and said to them,“ If anyone wants to be first, he must be last and servant of all.”

耶穌召而諭之曰：『外邦所謂民牧者、以民為奴；而為大臣者、擅作威福。爾中則不應若是。爾中孰願為大、當為爾役；孰願居首、當為公僕。即人子之來、非以役人、乃為人役、且將舍生以贖眾矣。』

耶穌召而諭之曰：『爾知外邦之君、奴視其民；其大臣擅作威福。爾等切莫如是、爾中孰願為尊、當為爾役；孰願為首、當為爾僕。正如人子之來、非以役人、乃為人役、且捨其生以為眾人之贖焉。』

是故、爾被邀時、宜自居末座、主人至、乃曰：「吾友、請升、」爾則見榮於同席之前矣。蓋自尊者必見抑、而自謙者必見升也。』

且天主之所以福惠吾人者、亦已厚矣。經云：『天主抑驕福謙、』此之謂也。

汝曹勿爾！最大者當如最幼、領導者當為僕役。

爾中大者、宜為爾僕；

予實語爾、斯人成義而歸、遠勝於法利塞人矣。蓋自高者必見抑、自卑者必見升也。』
