Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Jesus sat down and called for the 12 disciples to come to him. Then he said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. They must be the servant of everyone.”

And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them,“ If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said,“ Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”

于是耶稣把他们召来，对他们说：“你们知道，外邦人有所谓为首的压制他们，也有为大的管辖他们。但你们当中却不是这样；相反，无论谁想在你们当中为大，谁就该做你们的仆人；无论谁想在你们当中为首，谁就该做大家的奴仆。要知道，就是人子来，也不是为了受人的服事，而是为了服事人，并且献上自己的生命，替许多人做救赎的代价。”

于是耶稣把他们召来，说：“你们知道，外邦人有首领压制他们，也有为大的管辖他们。你们当中却不是这样；相反，谁想在你们当中为大，谁就该做你们的仆人；无论谁想在你们当中为首，谁就该做你们的奴仆，就像人子来不是为了受人的服事，而是为了服事人，并且献上自己的生命，替许多人做救赎的代价。”

“你被邀请的时候，要去坐在末位上，好让邀请你的人一旦来，就会对你说：‘朋友，请来上座。’那时候，你就在所有一同坐席的人面前有光彩了。因为每一个自我高举的都会被降卑；而自我降卑的都会被高举。”

不过他赐下更大的恩典，所以经上说：“神抵挡骄傲的人，赐恩典给谦卑的人。”

但你们却不是这样；相反，你们当中谁更大，谁就该变得像年幼的那样；领头的，该像服事人的。

你们当中谁更大，谁就该做你们的仆人，

我告诉你们：下去回家时已经被称为义的是这个税吏，而不是那个法利赛人。因为每一个自我高举的都会被降卑；而自我降卑的都会被高举。”

狂傲只会带来纷争；听从指教的就有智慧。
