Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Jesus sat down and called for the 12 disciples to come to him. Then he said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. They must be the servant of everyone.”

And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them,“ If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said,“ Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”

於是，耶穌把他們叫來，對他們說：「你們知道，外族人有君王統治他們，有大臣管理他們，但你們不可這樣。你們中間誰要當首領，誰就要做大家的僕人；誰要居首位，誰就要做大家的奴僕。因為就連人子也不是來受人服侍，而是來服侍人，並且犧牲性命，作許多人的贖價。」

於是，耶穌把他們叫來，說：「外族人有君王統治他們，有大臣管理他們。但你們不可這樣。你們中間，誰要當首領，誰就要做大家的僕人；誰要居首位，誰就要做大家的奴僕。正如人子不是來受人服侍，而是來服侍人，並且犧牲性命，作許多人的贖價。」

你去赴宴時，應該先坐在末位，這樣主人會對你說，『朋友，請上坐！』那時，你在賓客面前就有光彩了。因為自高的人必遭貶抑，謙卑的人必得尊榮。」

但上帝賜給我們更大的恩典，所以聖經上說：「上帝阻擋驕傲的人，恩待謙卑的人。」

但你們不可這樣。相反，你們中間地位最高的，要像最卑微的；做首領的，要像服侍人的。

你們當中誰最偉大，誰就要作你們的僕人。

「我告訴你們，二人回家後，被上帝算為義的是稅吏而不是法利賽人，因為自高的人必遭貶抑，謙卑的人必得尊榮。」

自高自大招惹紛爭，虛心受教才是睿智。

你想為自己謀求大事嗎？不要謀求，因為我要給世人降下災禍。但不論你到哪裡，我必使你保住性命。這是耶和華說的。』」
