They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them,“ What were you arguing about on the road?”

Jesus and his disciples came to a house in Capernaum. There he asked them,“ What were you arguing about on the road?”

後來，門徒起了意見，爭論誰是最大的。耶穌看出他們的心意，就領了一個小孩子來，叫他站在自己旁邊，對他們說：“凡因我的名接待這小孩子的，就是接待我；凡接待我的，就是接待那差我來的。誰是你們中間最小的，那人就是最大的。”

那時，門徒前來問耶穌：“天國裡誰是最大的呢？”耶穌叫了一個小孩子站在他們當中，說：“我實在告訴你們，如果你們不回轉，變成像小孩子一樣，一定不能進天國。所以，凡謙卑像這小孩子的，他在天國裡是最大的。凡因我的名接待一個這樣的小孩子的，就是接待我；

耶和華啊！你鑒察了我，你認識我。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）我坐下，我起來，你都知道；你在遠處就明白我的意念。我行路，我躺臥，你都細察；我的一切行為，你都熟悉。耶和華啊！我的舌頭還沒有發言，你已經完全知道了。

耶穌第三次問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”彼得因為耶穌第三次問他：“你愛我嗎？”就憂愁起來，對耶穌說：“主啊，你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的羊。

我必以死亡擊殺她的兒女；眾教會就都知道我是察驗人肺腑心腸的，我要照著你們的行為報應你們各人。

也不需要誰指證人是怎樣的，因為他知道人心裡存的是甚麼。

被造的在神面前沒有一樣不是顯明的，萬有在他的眼前都是赤露敞開的；我們必須向他交帳。

耶穌心裡立刻知道他們這樣議論，就對他們說：“你們心裡為甚麼議論這事？

他們來到迦百農，收殿稅的人前來對彼得說：“你們的老師不納稅嗎？”
