从那时起，耶稣才向门徒明说，他必须上耶路撒冷去，受长老、祭司长和文士许多的苦，并且被杀，第三天复活。

“看哪，我们上耶路撒冷去，人子将被交给祭司长和文士；他们要定他死罪，把他交给外邦人戏弄，鞭打，钉在十字架上；第三天他要复活。”

耶稣说：“以利亚的确先来复兴万事。经上不是指着人子说，他要受许多的苦和被人轻慢吗？

从此，他教导他们说：“人子必须受许多的苦，被长老、祭司长和文士弃绝，并且被杀，三天后复活。”

耶稣对他们说：“这就是我从前和你们同在时所告诉你们的话：摩西的律法、先知的书，和《诗篇》上所记一切指着我的话都必须应验。”于是耶稣开他们的心窍，使他们能明白圣经，又对他们说：“照经上所写的，基督必受害，第三天从死人中复活，

基督不是必须受这些苦难，然后进入他的荣耀吗？”

“你们知道，过两天是逾越节，人子将要被出卖，钉在十字架上。”

可是，园户看见他儿子，彼此说：‘这是承受产业的。来，我们杀了他，占他的产业！’于是他们拿住他，把他扔出葡萄园外，杀了。

耶稣把十二使徒带到一边，对他们说：“看哪，我们上耶路撒冷去，先知所写的一切事都要成就在人子身上。他将被交给外邦人；他们要戏弄他，凌辱他，向他吐唾沫，并要鞭打他，杀害他；第三天他要复活。”

正如人子来，不是要受人的服事，乃是要服事人，并且要舍命，作多人的赎价。”

他既按着上帝确定的旨意和预知被交与人，你们就藉着不法之人的手把他钉在十字架上，杀了。上帝却将死的痛苦解除，使他复活了，因为他原不能被死拘禁。

没有人夺去我的命，是我自己舍的；我有权舍弃，也有权再取回。这是我从我父所受的命令。”

摩西在旷野怎样举蛇，人子也必须照样被举起来，

希律和本丢‧彼拉多，同外邦人和以色列民，果然在这城里聚集，要攻打你所膏的圣仆耶稣，做了你手和你旨意所预定必成就的事。

“你们要把这些话听进去，因为人子将要被交在人手里。”

耶稣回答他们说：“你们拆毁这殿，我三日内要把它重建。”

我们若忍耐到底，也必和他一同作王。我们若不认他，他也必不认我们；
