Jesus went indoors. Then his disciples asked him in private,“ Why couldn’t we drive out the evil spirit?”

After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately,“ Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately,“ Why could we not cast it out?”

Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him,“ Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?”

After he had gone into the house, his disciples asked him privately,“ Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

When He came into the house, His disciples began asking Him privately,“ Why is it that we could not cast it out?”

And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately,“ Why could we not cast it out?”

The disciples came to him. They asked,“ Why do you use stories when you speak to the people?”

Peter said,“ Explain this to us.”

Then the disciples came to Jesus in private. They asked,“ Why couldn’t we drive out the demon?”He replied,“ Because your faith is much too small. What I’m about to tell you is true. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, it is enough. You can say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there.’ And it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

He did not say anything to them without using a story. But when he was alone with his disciples, he explained everything.

Then Jesus left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him. They said,“ Explain to us the story of the weeds in the field.”

Then he left the crowd and entered the house. His disciples asked him about this teaching.

Later Jesus was alone. The 12 disciples asked him about the stories. So did the others around him.
