But Jesus rebuked him, saying,“ Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man.( For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.)

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

While he was coming, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said,“ He is dead.”

He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain,for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him.Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.

And the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.”So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.And he took a piece of broken pottery with which to scrape himself while he sat in the ashes.
