你不是在他四周围上篱笆保护他吗？他的家和他所有的一切，以及他手所作的，你都赐福，他的家产也在地上增添。只要你伸手打击他所有的一切，他一定当面亵渎你。”耶和华对撒但说：“好吧，他所有的一切都交在你手中，只是不可以伸手害他。”于是撒但从耶和华面前退去。

耶稣斥责他说：“住口！从他身上出来！”鬼把那人摔倒在众人中间，就从他身上出来了，没有伤害他。

因为耶稣已经吩咐这污灵从那人身上出来。原来这污灵屡次抓住那人；那人被铁链和脚链捆锁，而且有人看管，他竟挣断锁链，被鬼赶入旷野。

你们是出于你们的父魔鬼，喜欢按着你们的父的私欲行事。他从起初就是杀人的凶手，不守真理，因为他心里没有真理。他说谎是出于本性，因为他本来就是说谎者，也是说谎的人的父。

那孩子正走过来的时候，污鬼把他摔倒，使他重重地抽疯。耶稣斥责那污灵，把孩子医好，交给他父亲。

无论在哪里，鬼抓住他，把他摔倒，他就口吐白沫，咬牙切齿，浑身僵硬。我请你的门徒把鬼赶出去，他们却办不到。”

你们要谨守、警醒。你们的仇敌魔鬼，好像吼叫的狮子走来走去，寻找可以吞吃的人；

那鬼大声喊叫，使孩子重重地抽了一阵疯，就出来了。孩子好像死了一样，所以许多人都说：“他死了！”

那人经常住在坟墓中间，从来没有人能绑住他，甚至用锁链都不能。曾经有很多次，人用脚镣和锁链捆绑他，锁链却被他挣断，脚镣也被他弄碎，始终没有人能制伏他。他昼夜在坟墓里和山野间喊叫，又用石头砍自己。

耶和华对撒但说：“好吧，他在你手中，不过，要留存他的命。”于是撒但从耶和华面前退去，击打约伯，使他从脚掌到头顶都生了毒疮。约伯坐在灰烬中，拿瓦片刮自己。
