Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray.As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah,who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.Then it happened, as they were parting from Him, that Peter said to Jesus,“ Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”— not knowing what he said.While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as they entered the cloud.And a voice came out of the cloud, saying,“ This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”When the voice had ceased, Jesus was found alone. But they kept quiet, and told no one in those days any of the things they had seen.

Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.Then Peter answered and said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying,“ This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.But Jesus came and touched them and said,“ Arise, and do not be afraid.”When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.

So Moses arose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will see the land that is very far off.

Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai( and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses talked with them.Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them as commandments all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would take the veil off until he came out; and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel whatever he had been commanded.And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone, then Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.

After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country.

and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me,“ Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,

who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

This will be the third time I am coming to you.“ By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.”

When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Jesus answered and said to them,“ Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.”Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away,how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels.

Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said,“ Fill four waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.”

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory:“ This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
