Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah”— not knowing what he said.As he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.And a voice came out of the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!”And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.And Peter said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.”He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified.But Jesus came and touched them, saying,“ Rise, and have no fear.”And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter and James and John the brother of James.

And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled.

So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.

Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them.Afterward all the people of Israel came near, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai.And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.Whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded,the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face was shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country.

and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest.The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire,his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying,“ Fear not, I am the first and the last,

For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel. And he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees.

who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

This is the third time I am coming to you. Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses.

Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

He answered,“ Elijah does come, and he will restore all things.But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.”Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.

Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it.

In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

And he put the wood in order and cut the bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. And he said,“ Fill four jars with water and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood.”

For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,”we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain.
