Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,“ Why could we not cast it out?”So Jesus said to them,“ Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately,“ Why could we not cast it out?”So He said to them,“ This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said,“ He is dead.”

And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth; and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him.So I implored Your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.”

But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Then he said to Gehazi,“ Get yourself ready, and take my staff in your hand, and be on your way. If you meet anyone, do not greet him; and if anyone greets you, do not answer him; but lay my staff on the face of the child.”And the mother of the child said,“ As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose and followed her.Now Gehazi went on ahead of them, and laid the staff on the face of the child; but there was neither voice nor hearing. Therefore he went back to meet him, and told him, saying,“ The child has not awakened.”

He tears me in His wrath, and hates me; He gnashes at me with His teeth; My adversary sharpens His gaze on me.

So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”

Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
