门徒悄悄地前来问耶稣：“为什么我们不能把鬼赶出去呢？”他说：“因为你们的信心太小了。我实在告诉你们，只要你们的信心像一粒芥菜种，就是对这山说：‘从这里移到那里’，它也必移开。没有什么是你们不能作的。”﹙有些抄本有第

有一个迦南的妇人从那地区出来，喊着说：“主啊，大卫的子孙，可怜我吧！我的女儿被鬼附得很苦。”

耶稣进了屋子，门徒私下问他说：“为什么我们不能把那污鬼赶出去呢？”耶稣对他们说：“这一类的鬼，非用祷告是赶不出去的。”

那鬼大声喊叫，使孩子重重地抽了一阵疯，就出来了。孩子好像死了一样，所以许多人都说：“他死了！”

你看，污灵一抓住他，他就忽然喊叫，并且抽疯，口吐白沫；污灵又折磨糟践他，不肯放过他。我求过你的门徒，把他赶出去，他们却办不到。”

但本来要承受天国的人，反被丢在外面黑暗里，在那里必要哀哭切齿。”

恶人看见就恼怒，他必咬牙切齿，身心耗损；恶人的心愿必幻灭。

神人对基哈西说：“你束上腰，手里拿着我的手杖前去；不论遇见的是谁，都不要向他问安；若是有人向你问安，你也不要回答他，只要去把我的手杖放在孩子的脸上。”孩子的母亲说：“我指着永活的耶和华和你的性命起誓，我决不会离开你。”神人只好起身随她而去。基哈西在他们前面去了，把手杖放在孩子的脸上，可是没有声音，也没有反应；于是他回来迎着以利沙，告诉他说：“那孩子还没有醒过来。”

他的怒气撕裂我，攻击我；他向我咬牙切齿，我的敌人以锐利的眼光看着我。

我带他去见你的门徒，他们却不能医好他。”

他们就把孩子带到他跟前。那鬼一见耶稣，就立刻使孩子抽了一阵疯，倒在地上，流着唾沫打滚。

是海中的狂浪，溅起了自己可耻的泡沫；是流荡的星，有漆黑的幽暗永远为他们存留。
