乃問之曰、士子言以利亞必先至、何歟、

嗣問耶穌曰：『經生謂伊理靄必需先臨何也？』

And they asked him,“ Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

Look, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome Day of the Lord comes.

“ See, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to His temple, the Messenger of the covenant you desire— see, He is coming,” says the Lord of Hosts.

if you’re willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who is to come.

So the disciples questioned Him,“ Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”“ Elijah is coming and will restore everything,” He replied.

Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
