And they asked him,“ Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

“ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

“ Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.

and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.

And the disciples asked him,“ Then why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?”He answered,“ Elijah does come, and he will restore all things.

And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
