Elisha said to her,“ What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered,“ Your servant has nothing in the house except a small jar of olive oil.”He said,“ Go and ask all your neighbors for empty containers. Get as many as you can.Go and close the door behind you and your sons. Pour the olive oil into all the containers; set aside each one when you have filled it.”So she left him and closed the door behind her and her sons. As they were bringing the containers to her, she was pouring the olive oil.When the containers were full, she said to one of her sons,“ Bring me another container.” But he answered her,“ There are no more.” Then the olive oil stopped flowing.She went and told the prophet. He said,“ Go, sell the olive oil. Repay your creditor, and then you and your sons can live off the rest of the profit.”

I tell you the solemn truth, the one who believes has eternal life.I am the bread of life.Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.This is the bread that has come down from heaven, so that a person may eat from it and not die.I am the living bread that came down from heaven. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus began to argue with one another,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves.The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him.Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so the one who consumes me will live because of me.This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors ate, but then later died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”

Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed the bread to those who were seated. He then did the same with the fish, as much as they wanted.When they were all satisfied, Jesus said to his disciples,“ Gather up the broken pieces that are left over, so that nothing is wasted.”So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves left over by the people who had eaten.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!For he has satisfied those who thirst, and those who hunger he has filled with food.

They will never go hungry or be thirsty again, and the sun will not beat down on them, nor any burning heat,because the Lamb in the middle of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you took up?

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied,“ Twelve.”“ When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied,“ Seven.”

You open your hand, and fill every living thing with the food they desire.

Then Jesus told them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”So they said to him,“ Sir, give us this bread all the time!”Jesus said to them,“ I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.

For this is what the LORD God of Israel says,‘ The jar of flour will not be empty and the jug of oil will not run out until the day the LORD makes it rain on the surface of the ground.’”She went and did as Elijah told her; there was always enough food for Elijah and for her and her family.The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the LORD had promised through Elijah.
