祂不在這裡，已經復活了！記住祂在加利利對你們說的話，『人子必須被交在罪人的手中，被釘在十字架上，在第三天復活。』」

耶和華對撒母耳說：「你照他們所說的去做吧，因為他們不是拒絕你，而是拒絕我做他們的王。

但你們現在卻背棄了拯救你們脫離一切災難和困苦的上帝，竟然對祂說，『我們要你立一位王來統治我們。』所以你們現在就按著支派宗族站在耶和華面前吧！」

又說：「人子必須受許多苦，被長老、祭司長和律法教師棄絕，殺害，但必在第三天復活。」耶穌又教導眾人說：「如果有人要跟從我，就應當捨己，天天背起他的十字架跟從我。因為想救自己生命的，必失去生命；但為了我而失去生命的，必得到生命。人若賺得全世界，卻失去自己或喪掉自己，又有什麼益處呢？如果有人以我和我的道為恥，將來人子在自己、天父和聖天使的榮耀中降臨時，也必以這人為恥。我實在告訴你們，有些站在這裡的人在有生之年就必看見上帝的國。」
