Sighing deeply in his spirit, he said,“ Why does this generation demand a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”

耶稣灵里深深地叹息，就说：“这世代为什么在寻求神迹呢？我确实地告诉你们：绝不会有神迹赐给这世代。”

耶穌心裏深深地歎息，說：「這世代為甚麼求神蹟呢？我實在告訴你們，沒有神蹟給這世代看。」

耶穌心靈裏深深地歎息說：『這世代為甚麼求神迹呢？我實在告訴你們，必沒有神迹給這世代的！』

耶穌靈裡深深地嘆息，就說：「這世代為什麼在尋求神蹟呢？我確實地告訴你們：絕不會有神蹟賜給這世代。」

耶穌中心太息、曰、斯世胡為求兆乎、我誠語汝、必不以兆予之、

耶穌中心太息曰、此世胡為求異蹟、我誠告爾、我必不以異蹟示此世、

耶穌中心歎息曰、斯世何為求異跡、我誠告爾、必不以異跡示此世、

耶穌衷心長歎曰：『斯代奚為求靈徵也！予誠告爾、實無靈徵可示斯代也。』

He sighed deeply and said,“ Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it.”

He sighed deeply. He said,“ Why do you people ask for a sign? What I’m about to tell you is true. No sign will be given to you.”

And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said,“ Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”

When he heard this, he sighed deeply in his spirit and said,“ Why do these people keep demanding a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, I will not give this generation any such sign.”

Sighing deeply in His spirit, He* said,“ Why does this generation demand a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation!”

But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said,“ Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”

And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

But sighing deeply in His spirit, He said,“ Why does this generation demand a sign? I assure you: No sign will be given to this generation!”

And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

Sighing deeply in his spirit he said,“ Why does this generation look for a sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to this generation.”

He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said,“ Why does this generation seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”

Looking up to heaven, he sighed deeply and said to him,“ Ephphatha!”( that is,“ Be opened!”).

An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” Then he left them and went away.

He answered them,“ An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.For as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

Even though he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him.This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet, who said: Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?This is why they were unable to believe, because Isaiah also said:He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke about him.Nevertheless, many did believe in him even among the rulers, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, so that they would not be banned from the synagogue.For they loved human praise more than praise from God.

As the crowds were increasing, he began saying,“ This generation is an evil generation. It demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; he was despised, and we didn’t value him.

They said,“ If you are the Messiah, tell us.” But he said to them,“ If I do tell you, you will not believe.And if I ask you, you will not answer.But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”They all asked,“ Are you, then, the Son of God?” And he said to them,“ You say that I am.”

He replied to them,“ You unbelieving generation, how long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me.”

And he was amazed at their unbelief. He was going around the villages teaching.

After looking around at them with anger, he was grieved at the hardness of their hearts and told the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

“ But Abraham said,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.’“‘ No, father Abraham,’ he said.‘ But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’“ But he told him,‘ If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.’”

As he approached and saw the city, he wept for it,

When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, he was deeply moved in his spirit and troubled.“ Where have you put him?” he asked.“ Lord,” they told him,“ come and see.”Jesus wept.So the Jews said,“ See how he loved him!”But some of them said,“ Couldn’t he who opened the blind man’s eyes also have kept this man from dying?”Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying against it.
