People were overwhelmed with amazement.“ He has done everything well,” they said.“ He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

登舟風息、無不駭然。

即起且行。女時年十二。眾睹此靈蹟莫不駭絕。

眾駭甚、彼此相告曰：『斯何人哉！並風與海亦惟命是聽矣！』

其人起、亟於眾前攜褥而出。眾奇之、歸榮天主曰：『如此靈蹟、向所未睹。』

主之大能。無與比矣。臟腑森然。主實型之。

眾皆愕然相詰曰：『此何事耶？其新道歟！彼竟有權號令邪魔、而若輩且唯唯從命矣！』

眾睹葆樂所為、以呂高尼語高呼曰：『神托人形、降臨吾儕矣。』

且識其為夙坐華門而求乞者也、皆不勝驚訝、而奇其所遇焉。其人方執伯鐸祿若望手、觀眾驚奇逾恆、趨就之集所羅門廊下。伯鐸祿見而謂之曰：『義塞人乎！事不足異何注視為？抑以吾恃己之德能、而使之行乎？亞伯漢意灑格雅各伯之天主、吾列祖之天主、厥子耶穌、已蒙榮寵。此即爾曹曩日執交比辣多、比辣多意欲釋之、

『且視言者非皆加利利人乎？何能道吾方言？吾輩或來自帕提亞、瑪代、以蘭、或向居美索不達米亞、猶太、加帕多蒙、本都、亞細亞、弗呂家、旁非利、埃及、以及毗連古利奈之呂彼亞；或自羅馬來此遊歷；或為猶太人、或為歸化者；尚有革哩底阿拉伯諸方人士；而各聞以其鄉音、稱道天主宏猷！』莫不驚訝自失而相語曰：『果何由而致此乎？』

夫吾儕受惡之報、宜也。彼則未嘗為非。』
