Then he looked up to heaven and said with a sigh,“ Ephphatha”( that is,“ Be opened”).

He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him,“ Ephphatha!”( which means“ Be opened!”).

Jesus looked up to heaven. With a deep sigh, he said to the man,“ Ephphatha!” That means“ Be opened!”

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the people who had come with her weeping, he was intensely moved in spirit and greatly distressed.

So they took away the stone. Jesus looked upward and said,“ Father, I thank you that you have listened to me.

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upward to heaven and said,“ Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that your Son may glorify you–

Now when Jesus approached and saw the city, he wept over it,

Peter said to him,“ Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Get up and make your own bed!” And immediately he got up.

Jesus said to him,“ Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”

“ And you, son of man, groan with an aching heart and bitterness; groan before their eyes.When they ask you,‘ Why are you groaning?’ you will reply,‘ Because of the report that has come. Every heart will melt with fear and every hand will be limp; everyone will faint and every knee will be wet with urine.’ Pay attention– it is coming and it will happen, declares the sovereign LORD.”

Jesus, intensely moved again, came to the tomb.( Now it was a cave, and a stone was placed across it.)

Around three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice,“ Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means,“ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

When he had said this, he shouted in a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”

Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying,“ I am willing. Be clean!”

For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus wept.

But Peter sent them all outside, knelt down, and prayed. Turning to the body, he said,“ Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

He was despised and rejected by people, one who experienced pain and was acquainted with illness; people hid their faces from him; he was despised, and we considered him insignificant.

Then he came up and touched the bier, and those who carried it stood still. He said,“ Young man, I say to you, get up!”

Then, gently taking the child by the hand, he said to her,“ Talitha koum,” which means,“ Little girl, I say to you, get up.”
