Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret.

And His disciples came up and urged Him, saying,“ Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us!”But He answered and said,“ I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying,“ Lord, help me!”Yet He answered and said,“ It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”And she said,“ Yes, Lord; but please help, for even the dogs feed on the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus said to her,“ O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed at once.

Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and a large multitude from Galilee followed, and also from Judea,and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard about everything that He was doing and came to Him.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that occurred in you had occurred in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

And He* said to them,“ Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a little while.”( For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)And they went away in the boat to a secluded place by themselves.

And after He entered the house, the men who were blind came up to Him, and Jesus* said to them,“ Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord.”

“ Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre,‘ The Lord God says this:“ Because your heart is haughty And you have said,‘ I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a mortal and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God—

When Jesus came back to Capernaum a few days later, it was heard that He was at home.

The territory of the Canaanite extended from Sidon going toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; and going toward Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

The pronouncement concerning Tyre: Wail, you ships of Tarshish, For Tyre is destroyed, without house or harbor; It is reported to them from the land of Cyprus.Be silent, you inhabitants of the coastland, You merchants of Sidon; Your messengers crossed the seaAnd were on many waters. The grain of the Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue; And she was the market of nations.Be ashamed, Sidon, For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying,“ I have neither been in labor nor given birth, I have neither brought up young men nor raised virgins.”

Likewise also, deeds that are good are quite evident, and those which are otherwise cannot be concealed.

He will not cry out nor raise His voice, Nor make His voice heard in the street.

“ Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, prophesy against herand say,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am against you, Sidon, And I will appear in My glory in your midst. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I execute judgments against her, And I will reveal Myself as holy in her.

“ Zebulun will reside at the seashore; And he shall be a harbor for ships, And his flank shall be toward Sidon.

He has said,“ You shall not be jubilant anymore, you crushed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest.”

Canaan fathered Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth,
