因不入其心、而入於腹、食化則遺於廁。』

食為腹、腹為食；惟腹與食皆非永久之物、轉瞬天主即將使之朽污無遺矣。至於吾人之身、豈為縱淫恣慾而存乎？身為主也、主為身也、如是而已。

上空對曰：「天主潔之、何俗之有？」

復有聲曰：『天主潔之、毋以為俗。』

豈不知入於口者、運於腹而遺於廁乎？

是故若有人以飲食、節期、新月、安息等事、訾議爾等、弗恤可也。

人之言曰：『此物不可觸也、此物不可食也、此物不可執也。』寧不知萬物終歸朽腐、正備人之一用乎。

第能心存慈善、施人以德、則物之於爾、無不潔矣。

信未篤者、爾當俯就之、而莫與之爭辯。或者以為百物皆可食、而信未篤者、則非蔬不食。食者不得輕視不食者；不食者亦不得指摘食者。彼固天主之所容也；爾何人斯、乃敢指摘他氏之僕耶！彼之能立與否、惟對其主負責；矧其主固能使之立、詎見其終不立耶？有拘泥於日期者、有不拘者、亦各行其心之所安而已。彼守日者、為主而守之也。食者為主而食、且致謝於天主焉；齋戒者為主而齋戒、亦致謝於天主焉。吾儕之中、孰能為己而生、為己而死乎？蓋吾人之生也、為主而生；死也、為主而死；生為主之徒、死為主之屬、如是而已矣。且夫基督之所以死而復活者、正欲作生者死者之主宰、而黜陟幽明。今爾何人、竟敢指摘爾之兄弟耶！爾果何人、乃敢藐視爾之兄弟耶！豈不知吾人皆須立於天主臺前、而聽其審判乎。經有之：『主曰、吾憑己之常生而誓、血氣之倫、皆當向我屈膝；含生之屬、皆當向我投誠。』是知每人終須向天主述職也。
