“ Are you so dull?” he asked.“ Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them?

耶稣对他们说：“你们也是这样不明白吗？岂不晓得凡从外面进入的，不能污秽人，

他对他们说：“连你们也是这样不明白吗？难道不知道从外面进去的，不能使人污秽吗？

耶稣说：“你们也是这样无知吗？你们难道不明白一切从外面进到人里面的，不能使人污秽吗？

耶穌對他們說：「你們也是這樣不明白嗎？豈不曉得凡從外面進入的，不能污穢人，

耶穌對他們說：「你們也是這樣不明白嗎？難道你們不了解，凡從外面進去的不能玷污人嗎？

耶穌對他們說：「你們也是這樣不明白嗎？難道你們不了解，凡從外面進去的不能玷污人嗎？

耶穌說：「你們也不明白嗎？你們不知道嗎？從外面進去的，不會使人污穢，

他對他們說：“連你們也是這樣不明白嗎？難道不知道從外面進去的，不能使人污穢嗎？

耶穌就對他們說：『連你們也是這樣蒙昧麼？豈不了悟、凡從外面進入人的、並不能使他俗污麼？

耶穌說：「你們也是這樣無知嗎？你們難道不明白一切從外面進到人裡面的，不能使人汙穢嗎？

耶穌曰、爾亦如斯不悟乎、豈不知凡自外入者、不能污人、

答曰：『汝亦若斯無識耶？豈不知自外入者、不能浼人、

“ Don’t you understand?” Jesus asked.“ Don’t you see? Nothing that enters a person from the outside can make them‘ unclean.’

And he said to them,“ Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him,

“ Don’t you understand either?” he asked.“ Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you?

He said to them,“ Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that nothing going into a person from the outside can defile him?

And He* said to them,“ Are you so lacking in understanding as well? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the person from outside cannot defile him,

So He said to them,“ Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,

And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Perceive ye not, that whatsoever from without goeth into the man, it cannot defile him;

And He said to them,“ Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that nothing going into a man from the outside can defile him?

And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man,[ it] cannot defile him;

He said to them,“ Are you so foolish? Don’t you understand that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him?

He said to them,“ Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,

“ Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them.“ Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?

He said to them,“ How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

I thought,“ These are only the poor; they are foolish, for they do not know the way of the Lord, the requirements of their God.So I will go to the leaders and speak to them; surely they know the way of the Lord, the requirements of their God.” But with one accord they too had broken off the yoke and torn off the bonds.

How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

“ You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus,“ and do you not understand these things?

“ Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast?For it is: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that; a little here, a little there.”

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.

Then Jesus said to them,“ Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?
