He said to the multitudes also,“ When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say,‘ A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.When a south wind blows, you say,‘ There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

Elijah came near to all the people, and said,“ How long will you waver between the two sides? If Yahweh is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” The people didn’t say a word.

You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!

Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said,“ Do you understand what you are reading?”

Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,both low and high, rich and poor together.

Micaiah said,“ If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said,“ Listen, all you people!”

Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?

In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,“ Beware of those scribes who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these will receive greater condemnation.”

Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all,“ Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
