Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.

Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.Into whatever house you enter, first say,‘ Peace be to this house.’If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.Into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.Heal the sick who are there, and tell them,‘ God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’But into whatever city you enter, and they don’t receive you, go out into its streets and say,‘ Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.He sent them out to preach God’s Kingdom and to heal the sick.He said to them,“ Take nothing for your journey— no staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money. Don’t have two coats each.Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”They departed and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News and healing everywhere.

When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Simon, who was called the Zealot;Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.

He went up into the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach,

Yahweh’s anger burned against Moses, and he said,“ What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he is coming out to meet you. Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.As you enter into the household, greet it.If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.

Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to come.

I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
