Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.

Go! I am sending you out like lambs surrounded by wolves.Do not carry a money bag, a traveler’s bag, or sandals, and greet no one on the road.Whenever you enter a house, first say,‘ May peace be on this house!’And if a peace- loving person is there, your peace will remain on him, but if not, it will return to you.Stay in that same house, eating and drinking what they give you, for the worker deserves his pay. Do not move around from house to house.Whenever you enter a town and the people welcome you, eat what is set before you.Heal the sick in that town and say to them,‘ The kingdom of God has come upon you!’But whenever you enter a town and the people do not welcome you, go into its streets and say,‘ Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come.’I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town!

After Jesus called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.He said to them,“ Take nothing for your journey– no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, and do not take an extra tunic.Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave the area.Wherever they do not receive you, as you leave that town, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”Then they departed and went throughout the villages, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:Simon( whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot,Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Two people are better than one, because they can reap more benefit from their labor.For if they fall, one will help his companion up, but pity the person who falls down and has no one to help him up.

Now Jesus went up the mountain and called for those he wanted, and they came to him.He appointed twelve( whom he named apostles), so that they would be with him and he could send them to preach

Then the LORD became angry with Moses, and he said,“ What about your brother Aaron the Levite? I know that he can speak very well. Moreover, he is coming to meet you, and when he sees you he will be glad in his heart.“ So you are to speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And as for me, I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you both what you must do.

These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;

Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness.Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon( called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them as follows:“ Do not go to Gentile regions and do not enter any Samaritan town.

Do not take gold, silver, or copper in your belts,no bag for the journey, or an extra tunic, or sandals or staff, for the worker deserves his provisions.Whenever you enter a town or village, find out who is worthy there and stay with them until you leave.As you enter the house, give it greetings.And if the house is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.And if anyone will not welcome you or listen to your message, shake the dust off your feet as you leave that house or that town.

After this the Lord appointed seventy- two others and sent them on ahead of him two by two into every town and place where he himself was about to go.

And I will grant my two witnesses authority to prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.
