Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.

Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road.Whatever house you enter, first say,‘ Peace be to this house!’And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you.And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you.Heal the sick in it and say to them,‘ The kingdom of God has come near to you.’But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say,‘ Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.And he said to them,“ Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics.And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart.And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles:Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew,and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!

And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him.And he appointed twelve( whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach

Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said,“ Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do.

And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

Acquire no gold or silver or copper for your belts,no bag for your journey, or two tunics or sandals or a staff, for the laborer deserves his food.And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.As you enter the house, greet it.And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.

And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
