接着，耶稣上了船和他们在一起。这时候风就停了。门徒们心里感到极其惊讶，

于是到他们那里，上了船，风就住了；他们心里十分惊奇。

耶稣就起来，斥责了风，对浪说：“不许做声！平静下来！”于是风就停了，湖面就变得一片平静。

门徒们这才愿意接他上船。船立刻就到了他们所要去的地方。

耶稣对他们说：“为什么胆怯呢？你们这些小信的人哪！”耶稣就起来，斥责风和浪，湖面就变得一片平静。他们都感到惊奇，说：“这个人究竟是什么人？连风和浪也听从他！”

门徒们上前来叫醒耶稣，说：“老师，老师，我们没命了！”耶稣就起来，斥责风和浪，风浪就止息，湖面就变得平静。耶稣对他们说：“你们的信仰在哪里？”他们又惧怕，又惊奇，彼此说：“这个人究竟是谁？他竟然命令风和水，连风和水也听从他！”

人们极其惊讶，说：“他所做的一切都好！他甚至使聋子听见，使哑巴说话。”

彼得对他说：“主啊，如果是你，请吩咐我，从水面上走到你那里去。”耶稣说：“你来吧！”彼得就从船上下去，在水面上行走向耶稣那里去。但是，他一看到风极大，就惧怕起来，开始往下沉，于是呼叫说：“主啊，救救我！”耶稣立刻伸手拉住他，说：“小信的人哪，你为什么疑惑呢？”他们一上船，风就停了。

那个人就立刻起来，拿起垫子在大家面前出去了。结果大家都惊讶，就荣耀神，说：“我们从来没有见过这样的事。”

结果大家都惊讶不已，彼此谈论说：“这是怎么回事？！一个带有权柄的新的教导！他命令污灵，污灵就都听从他！”

那女孩随即起来，开始走动。她那时十二岁。大家立刻目瞪口呆，大为惊讶。

于是他们悄悄地坐船出发，往一个荒僻的地方去。

门徒们就大为惊恐，彼此说：“这个人究竟是谁？连风和浪也听从他！”

耶和华啊，洪流扬起——洪流扬起它们的声音，洪流扬起它们的涛声！耶和华在至高处大有能力，胜过大水的声音，胜过海洋巨大的波浪！

于是他们在危难中向耶和华呼求，他就把他们从困境中领出来。他使狂风止息，归于静寂，海洋的波涛也平静了。他们因为波涛平静下来就欢喜，他就引导他们到想要去的安全港。
