She went out and said to her mother,“ What shall I ask for?”“ The head of John the Baptist,” she answered.

Then she went out and said to her mother,“ What should I ask for?”“ John the Baptist’s head!” she said.

So she went out and said to her mother,“ What should I ask for?” Her mother said,“ The head of John the baptizer.”

She went out, and said to her mother,“ What shall I ask?” She said,“ The head of John the Baptizer.”

亞哈謝也行亞哈家的道，因為他母親給他主謀，使他行惡。他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，像亞哈家一樣；因他父親死後，他們給他主謀，使他敗壞。

現在，我兒，你要聽我的話，照我所吩咐你的，到羊羣裏去，從那裏牽兩隻肥美的小山羊來給我，我就照你父親所愛的，把牠們做成美味給他。然後，你拿到你父親那裏給他吃，好讓他在未死之前為你祝福。」雅各對他母親利百加說：「看哪，我哥哥以掃渾身都有毛，我身上卻是光滑的；

若我帳棚中的人未曾說：『誰不以他的肉食吃飽呢？』

說：你的母親在獅子中是怎樣的母獅呢？牠蹲伏在少壯獅子中，養育小獅子。牠養大了其中一隻小獅子，成了少壯獅子，學會抓食，牠就吃人。

那作惡的就是我的仇敵，前來吃我肉的時候就絆跌仆倒。

惡人設謀要害義人，向他咬牙。

惡人刀已出鞘，弓已上弦，要砍倒困苦貧窮的人，要殺害行為正直的人。

女兒被母親指使，就說：「請把施洗約翰的頭放在盤子裏，拿來給我。」

到了天亮，猶太人同謀起誓，說「若不先殺保羅就不吃不喝」。參與這陰謀的有四十多人。
