因為約翰屢次對希律說：「你娶弟弟的妻子不合法。」

而約翰曾對希律說：“你佔有你兄弟的妻子是不合理的。”

因為約翰屢次對希律說：『你取了你兄弟的妻子是不合法的。』

而約翰一直對希律說：「你占有自己兄弟的妻子是不可以的。」

約翰曾謂之曰、納弟妻非宜也、

約翰諫曰、納兄弟妻、非宜也、

約翰諫曰、爾納弟妻、非宜也、

蓋如望嘗諫曰：『納弟婦、非禮也。』

For John had been saying to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

John had been telling Herod,“ It is against God’s law for you to marry your brother’s wife.”

Because John had said to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

For John said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

If there is a man who takes his brother’s wife, it is detestable; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They will be childless.

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness.

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, I shall speak it.”

Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all people.For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

For when Herod had John arrested, he bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.For John had been saying to him,“ It is not lawful for you to have her.”

When I say to the wicked,‘ You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing, but his blood I will require from your hand.However if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die for wrongdoing, but you have saved yourself.

Now some days later Felix arrived with Drusilla his wife, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus.But as he was discussing righteousness, self control, and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and responded,“ Go away for now, and when I have an opportunity, I will summon you.”At the same time he was also hoping that money would be given to him by Paul; therefore he also used to send for him quite often and talk with him.
