耶稣问：“你叫什么名字？”他说：“我的名字叫‘群’，因为我们是一大群。”

耶穌問他說：「你名叫甚麼？」回答說：「我名叫『羣』，因為我們多的緣故」；

耶穌問他：「你叫甚麼名字？」他說：「我名叫羣，因為我們數目眾多。」

遂問之曰、爾何名、對曰、軍、我儕多故也、

乃問曰、爾何名、曰、我名營、吾儕多故也、

問其名、對曰：『吾名繁有徒、以吾黨極眾故耳。』

Then Jesus asked him,“ What is your name?”“ My name is Legion,” he replied,“ for we are many.”

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith unto him, My name is Legion; for we are many.

耶稣问他：“你叫什么名字？”他说：“我叫‘群’。”因为有一大群鬼附在那人身上。

难道你不知道，我可以请求我父马上派十二营以上的天使来保护我吗？

他们到了耶稣那里，看见那一度被群鬼附身的人神智清醒、衣着整齐地坐在那里，都很害怕。

“壮汉全副武装地看守自己的住宅，他的财物会很安全。但是，来了一个比他更强壮的人，把他制服后，夺去他所依靠的武装，并把他抢来的东西分给了人。谁不与我为友，就是与我为敌；谁不和我一起收聚，就是故意拆散。“有个污鬼离开了它以前所附的人，在干旱无水之地四处游荡，寻找安歇之处，却没有找到。于是它说，‘我要回到老地方。’它回去后，看见里面打扫得又干净又整齐，就去带来了七个比自己更邪恶的鬼一起住在那里。那人的下场比从前更惨了。”
