既入、謂之曰、胡為號咷哭泣乎、女非死、乃寢耳、

進而謂眾曰：『何為喧嚷悲哭、女未死、乃睡耳。』

He went in and said to them,“ Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.”

He went inside. Then he said to them,“ Why all this confusion and sobbing? The child is not dead. She is only sleeping.”

And when he had entered, he said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping.”

He went inside and asked,“ Why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.”

He went in and said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.”

And after entering, He* said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child has not died, but is asleep.”

When He came in, He said to them,“ Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”

And when he was entered in, he saith unto them, Why make ye a tumult, and weep? the child is not dead, but sleepeth.

He went in and said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.”

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

When he entered he said to them,“ Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.”

When he had entered in, he said to them,“ Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.”

Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him.“ Don’t be alarmed,” he said.“ He’s alive!” (niv)

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. (niv)

That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. (niv)

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. (niv)

After he had said this, he went on to tell them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”His disciples replied,“ Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.”Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. (niv)

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. (niv)
