When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

撒母耳遵照耶和華的話去做，來到伯利恆，城裏的長老都戰戰兢兢出來迎接他，有人問他說：「你是為平安來的嗎？」

伯‧示麥人說：「誰能在耶和華這位聖潔的上帝面前侍立呢？這約櫃可以從我們這裏上到誰那裏去呢？」於是他們派使者到基列‧耶琳的居民那裏，說：「非利士人將耶和華的約櫃送回來了，你們下來將約櫃接了，上到你們那裏去吧！」

因為上帝賜給我們的不是膽怯的心，而是剛強、仁愛、自制的心。

耶穌問他：「你叫甚麼名字？」他說：「我名叫羣，因為我們數目眾多。」

因為你們上一次沒有抬這約櫃，並且我們沒有按規矩求問耶和華－我們的上帝，所以他衝出來攻擊我們。」

他們在那裏大大害怕，因為上帝在義人的族類中。

耶穌上了岸，就有城裏一個被鬼附的人迎着他走來。這個人好久不穿衣服，不住在屋子裏，而住在墳墓裏。

勇士搶去的豈能奪回？被殘暴者擄掠的豈能得解救呢？但耶和華如此說：「就是勇士所擄掠的，也可以奪回；殘暴者所搶的，也可以得解救。與你相爭的，我必與他相爭，我也要拯救你的兒女。

她有一個妹妹，名叫馬利亞，在主的腳前坐着聽他的道。

他的尊榮豈不叫你們懼怕嗎？他豈不使驚嚇臨到你們嗎？

耶穌上船的時候，那曾被鬼附的人懇求要和耶穌在一起。

他的名聲傳遍了敘利亞。那裏的人把一切病人，就是有各樣疾病和疼痛的、被鬼附的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，都帶了來，耶穌就治好了他們。

鬼被趕出去，啞巴就說出話來。眾人都很驚訝，說：「在以色列，從來沒有見過這樣的事。」

人怎能進壯士家裏搶奪他的東西呢？除非先綁住那壯士，否則無法搶奪他的家。

眾人出來，要看發生了甚麼事；到了耶穌那裏，發現那人坐在耶穌腳前，鬼已離開了他，穿着衣服，神智清醒，他們就害怕。看見這事的人把被鬼附的人怎麼得醫治的事告訴他們。

看見這事的人把被鬼附的人所遇見的，和那羣豬的事，都告訴了眾人，

那日，大衛懼怕上帝，說：「我怎能將上帝的約櫃接到我這裏來呢？」

因為人屢次用腳鐐和鐵鏈捆鎖他，鐵鏈被他掙斷，腳鐐也被他弄碎了，總沒有人能制伏他。
