伯‧示麦人说：“谁能在耶和华这位圣洁的上帝面前侍立呢？这约柜可以从我们这里上到谁那里去呢？”于是他们派使者到基列‧耶琳的居民那里，说：“非利士人将耶和华的约柜送回来了，你们下来将约柜接了，上到你们那里去吧！”

因为上帝赐给我们的不是胆怯的心，而是刚强、仁爱、自制的心。

耶稣问他：“你叫什么名字？”他说：“我名叫群，因为我们数目众多。”

因为你们上一次没有抬这约柜，并且我们没有按规矩求问耶和华—我们的上帝，所以他冲出来攻击我们。”

他们在那里大大害怕，因为上帝在义人的族类中。

耶稣上了岸，就有城里一个被鬼附的人迎着他走来。这个人好久不穿衣服，不住在屋子里，而住在坟墓里。

勇士抢去的岂能夺回？被残暴者掳掠的岂能得解救呢？但耶和华如此说：“就是勇士所掳掠的，也可以夺回；残暴者所抢的，也可以得解救。与你相争的，我必与他相争，我也要拯救你的儿女。

她有一个妹妹，名叫马利亚，在主的脚前坐着听他的道。

他的尊荣岂不叫你们惧怕吗？他岂不使惊吓临到你们吗？

耶稣上船的时候，那曾被鬼附的人恳求要和耶稣在一起。

他的名声传遍了叙利亚。那里的人把一切病人，就是有各样疾病和疼痛的、被鬼附的、癫痫的、瘫痪的，都带了来，耶稣就治好了他们。

鬼被赶出去，哑巴就说出话来。众人都很惊讶，说：“在以色列，从来没有见过这样的事。”

人怎能进壮士家里抢夺他的东西呢？除非先绑住那壮士，否则无法抢夺他的家。

众人出来，要看发生了什么事；到了耶稣那里，发现那人坐在耶稣脚前，鬼已离开了他，穿着衣服，神智清醒，他们就害怕。看见这事的人把被鬼附的人怎么得医治的事告诉他们。

看见这事的人把被鬼附的人所遇见的，和那群猪的事，都告诉了众人，

那日，大卫惧怕上帝，说：“我怎能将上帝的约柜接到我这里来呢？”

因为人屡次用脚镣和铁链捆锁他，铁链被他挣断，脚镣也被他弄碎了，总没有人能制伏他。
