A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid.

至耶穌所在、見患魔者整襟危坐、神志清明、不勝駭怖。

When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

“ Who is able to stand in the presence of the Lord, this holy God?” they cried out.“ Where can we send the Ark from here?”So they sent messengers to the people at Kiriath jearim and told them,“ The Philistines have returned the Ark of the Lord. Come here and get it!”

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self discipline.

Then Jesus demanded,“ What is your name?” And he replied,“ My name is Legion, because there are many of us inside this man.”

Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the Lord our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.”

Terror will grip them, for God is with those who obey him.

As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons came out to meet him. For a long time he had been homeless and naked, living in the tombs outside the town.

Who can snatch the plunder of war from the hands of a warrior? Who can demand that a tyrant let his captives go?But the Lord says,“ The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children.

Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught.

Doesn’t his majesty terrify you? Doesn’t your fear of him overwhelm you?

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him.

News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed— he healed them all.

So Jesus cast out the demon, and then the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed.“ Nothing like this has ever happened in Israel!” they exclaimed.

For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger— someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.

People rushed out to see what had happened. A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been freed from the demons. He was sitting at Jesus’ feet, fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid.Then those who had seen what happened told the others how the demon possessed man had been healed.

Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon possessed man and the pigs.

David was now afraid of God, and he asked,“ How can I ever bring the Ark of God back into my care?”

Whenever he was put into chains and shackles— as he often was— he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
