When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

伯示麥人說：『在永恆主這神聖的上帝面前、誰能站立得住呢？我們要把他從我們這裏送上哪裏去呢？』於是打發使者去見基列耶琳的居民，說：『非利士人將永恆主的櫃送回來了；你們下來，將櫃接上你們那裏去吧。』

因為上帝並不是賜給我們膽怯之靈、乃是賜能力愛心和修練之靈。

耶穌問他說：『你名叫甚麼？』他對他說：『我名叫「軍團」，因為我們眾多。』

因為你們先前沒有這樣作過；永恆主我們的上帝便突擊了我們，因為我們沒有按規矩尋問他。』

他們震懾恐懼，因為上帝在義人的族類中。

耶穌一出來，上了岸，就有一個城裏的人、有鬼附着的、迎面而來。這個人好久不穿衣裳，不住房屋，只住在塋墓中間。

勇士拿去的、哪能拿回？強橫人擄掠的、哪能搭救過來？實在的，永恆主是這麼說：『就是勇士擄掠的、也可以拿回，就使強橫人拿去的、也可以搭救過來；跟你相爭的、我必跟他相爭；你的兒女、我必拯救。

這人有一個妹妹叫馬利亞、在主腳旁坐着，聽他講話。

他的尊嚴、哪能不使你們驚惶失措呢？畏懼他的心、哪能不落到你們身上呢？

耶穌上船的時候，那被鬼附過的人求耶穌讓他跟隨着他。

他的名聲傳出去，到了全敍利亞；人把一切有病的、給各種疾病疼痛困迫的、被鬼附的、癲癇的、癱瘓的、都帶了來；耶穌都治好了他們。

鬼被趕出，啞巴就說出話來。羣眾都希奇說：『在以色列中從沒有見過這樣的事呀。』

人怎能進強壯者的家，去搶奪他的家具呢？除非先把那強壯者捆住了，然後才能搶奪他的家。

眾人就出來，要看所發生的事；到了耶穌那裏，看見鬼所由出的那人穿着衣裳、神志清明、坐在耶穌腳旁，他們就害怕。看見的人將那被鬼附過的人怎樣地得救治、告訴他們。

看見的人將那被鬼附者所遭遇的怎樣、以及豬的事、都對他們敘說了。

那一天大衛大大敬畏上帝，說：『我怎能將上帝的櫃扛到我這裏來呢？』

因為他屢次被腳鐐和鎖鍊捆住，鎖鍊竟被他折斷了，腳鐐也弄碎了；總沒有人能使他馴服。
