When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

伯‧示麥人說：「誰能在耶和華這聖潔的神面前侍立呢？這約櫃可以從我們這裏送到誰那裏去呢？」於是打發人去見基列‧耶琳的居民，說：「非利士人將耶和華的約櫃送回來了，你們下來將約櫃接到你們那裏去吧！」

因為神賜給我們，不是膽怯的心，乃是剛強、仁愛、謹守的心。

耶穌問他說：「你名叫甚麼？」回答說：「我名叫『羣』，因為我們多的緣故」；

因你們先前沒有擡這約櫃，按定例求問耶和華－我們的神，所以他刑罰我們。」

他們在那裏大大地害怕，因為神在義人的族類中。

耶穌上了岸，就有城裏一個被鬼附着的人迎面而來。這個人許久不穿衣服，不住房子，只住在墳塋裏。

勇士搶去的豈能奪回？該擄掠的豈能解救嗎？但耶和華如此說：就是勇士所擄掠的，也可以奪回；強暴人所搶的，也可以解救。與你相爭的，我必與他相爭；我要拯救你的兒女。

她有一個妹子，名叫馬利亞，在耶穌腳前坐着聽他的道。

他的尊榮豈不叫你們懼怕嗎？他的驚嚇豈不臨到你們嗎？

耶穌上船的時候，那從前被鬼附着的人懇求和耶穌同在。

他的名聲就傳遍了敘利亞。那裏的人把一切害病的，就是害各樣疾病、各樣疼痛的和被鬼附的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，都帶了來，耶穌就治好了他們。

鬼被趕出去，啞巴就說出話來。眾人都希奇，說：「在以色列中，從來沒有見過這樣的事。」

人怎能進壯士家裏，搶奪他的家具呢？除非先捆住那壯士，才可以搶奪他的家財。

眾人出來要看是甚麼事；到了耶穌那裏，看見鬼所離開的那人，坐在耶穌腳前，穿着衣服，心裏明白過來，他們就害怕。看見這事的便將被鬼附着的人怎麼得救告訴他們。

看見這事的，便將鬼附之人所遇見的和那羣豬的事都告訴了眾人；

那日，大衛懼怕神，說：「神的約櫃怎可運到我這裏來？」

因為人屢次用腳鐐和鐵鍊捆鎖他，鐵鍊竟被他掙斷了，腳鐐也被他弄碎了；總沒有人能制伏他。
