When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

伯．示麥人說：“在耶和華這位聖潔的神面前，誰能站立得住呢？他可以從我們這裡上到哪裡去呢？”於是他們派遣使者到基列．耶琳的居民那裡去，對他們說：“非利士人把耶和華的約櫃送回來了。你們下來把它接到你們那裡去吧。”

因為神所賜給我們的，不是膽怯的靈，而是有能力、仁愛、自律的靈。

耶穌問他：“你叫甚麼名字？”他回答：“我名叫‘群’，因為我們眾多。”

先前沒有你們，耶和華我們的神就擊打我們，因為我們沒有按照定例尋求他。”

他們必大大震驚，因為神在義人的群體中。

耶穌一上岸，就有城裡一個被鬼附著的人，迎面而來。這人已經很久不穿衣服，不住在家裡，只住在墳墓裡。

被搶去的怎能從勇士手中奪回呢？被俘虜的怎能從強暴者（按照《馬索拉文本》，“強暴者”作“義者”；現參照《死海古卷》和其他古譯本翻譯）的手裡救出來呢？但耶和華這樣說：“就是勇士所俘擄的，也可以奪回，強暴者所搶去的，也可以救出來；與你相爭的，我必與他們相爭；你的兒女，我卻要拯救。

她有一個妹妹，名叫馬利亞，坐在主的腳前聽道。

他的尊嚴不是叫你們懼怕嗎？他的驚嚇不是臨到你們嗎？

耶穌上船的時候，那被鬼附過的人來求他，要和他在一起。

他的名聲傳遍了敘利亞全地，人們就把一切患病的，就是患各種疾病、疼痛、鬼附、癲癇、癱瘓的，都帶到他面前，他就醫好他們。

耶穌把鬼趕走之後，啞巴就說話了。眾人都很驚奇，說：“這樣的事，在以色列從來沒有見過。”

如果不先把壯漢綁起來，怎能進到他的家裡，搶奪財物呢？如果綁起來了，就可以搶劫他的家了。

眾人就出來看發生了甚麼事。來到耶穌那裡，看見鬼已經離開的那人，穿著衣服，神志清醒，坐在耶穌腳前，他們就害怕。當時看見的人，把被鬼附過的人怎樣得到醫治，說給他們聽。

看見的人把被鬼附過的人所遭遇的和那群豬的事，告訴了他們。

那天，大衛懼怕神，說：“我怎可以把神的約櫃運到我這裡來呢？”

曾經有很多次，人用腳鐐和鎖鍊捆綁他，鎖鍊卻被他掙斷，腳鐐也被他弄碎，始終沒有人能制伏他。
