When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

伯．示麦人说：“在耶和华这位圣洁的神面前，谁能站立得住呢？他可以从我们这里上到哪里去呢？”于是他们派遣使者到基列．耶琳的居民那里去，对他们说：“非利士人把耶和华的约柜送回来了。你们下来把它接到你们那里去吧。”

因为神所赐给我们的，不是胆怯的灵，而是有能力、仁爱、自律的灵。

耶稣问他：“你叫什么名字？”他回答：“我名叫‘群’，因为我们众多。”

先前没有你们，耶和华我们的神就击打我们，因为我们没有按照定例寻求他。”

他们必大大震惊，因为神在义人的群体中。

耶稣一上岸，就有城里一个被鬼附着的人，迎面而来。这人已经很久不穿衣服，不住在家里，只住在坟墓里。

被抢去的怎能从勇士手中夺回呢？被俘虏的怎能从强暴者（按照《马索拉文本》，“强暴者”作“义者”；现参照《死海古卷》和其他古译本翻译）的手里救出来呢？但耶和华这样说：“就是勇士所俘掳的，也可以夺回，强暴者所抢去的，也可以救出来；与你相争的，我必与他们相争；你的儿女，我却要拯救。

她有一个妹妹，名叫马利亚，坐在主的脚前听道。

他的尊严不是叫你们惧怕吗？他的惊吓不是临到你们吗？

耶稣上船的时候，那被鬼附过的人来求他，要和他在一起。

他的名声传遍了叙利亚全地，人们就把一切患病的，就是患各种疾病、疼痛、鬼附、癫痫、瘫痪的，都带到他面前，他就医好他们。

耶稣把鬼赶走之后，哑巴就说话了。众人都很惊奇，说：“这样的事，在以色列从来没有见过。”

如果不先把壮汉绑起来，怎能进到他的家里，抢夺财物呢？如果绑起来了，就可以抢劫他的家了。

众人就出来看发生了什么事。来到耶稣那里，看见鬼已经离开的那人，穿着衣服，神志清醒，坐在耶稣脚前，他们就害怕。当时看见的人，把被鬼附过的人怎样得到医治，说给他们听。

看见的人把被鬼附过的人所遭遇的和那群猪的事，告诉了他们。

那天，大卫惧怕神，说：“我怎可以把神的约柜运到我这里来呢？”

曾经有很多次，人用脚镣和锁链捆绑他，锁链却被他挣断，脚镣也被他弄碎，始终没有人能制伏他。
