When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

伯·示麥人說：「誰能站立在耶和華——這位聖潔的上帝面前呢？該把約櫃送到誰那裡呢？」後來，他們就派使者到基列·耶琳的居民那裡，說：「非利士人已經把耶和華的約櫃送回來了，你們下來把它接到你們那裡吧。」

因為上帝賜給我們的不是懦弱的心，而是剛強、仁愛、自律的心。

耶穌問：「你叫什麼名字？」他說：「我的名字叫『群』，因為我們是一大群。」

先前你們沒有抬約櫃，我們也沒有按規矩求問我們的上帝耶和華，以致祂向我們發怒。」

但他們終必充滿恐懼，因為上帝站在義人當中。

耶穌上岸後，迎面遇見當地一個被鬼附身的人。那人長期赤身露體，不住在房屋裡，只住在墓穴中。

勇士搶去的能奪回來嗎？暴君擄走的能救回來嗎？但耶和華說：「勇士擄去的必被奪回，暴君搶去的必被救出。我必與你的敵人爭戰，拯救你的兒女。

瑪大的妹妹瑪麗亞坐在耶穌腳前聽道，

難道你們不怕祂的威嚴，不對祂充滿恐懼嗎？

耶穌上了船準備離開的時候，那被鬼附過的人懇求耶穌讓他隨行。

祂的名聲傳遍了整個敘利亞。人們把一切患病的，就是患各種疾病的、疼痛的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，以及被鬼附身的都帶到祂面前，祂都醫治了他們。

耶穌把鬼趕出去後，啞巴就能說話了。眾人都感到驚奇，說：「在以色列從未見過這樣的事。」

「人如何進入壯漢家中搶奪他的財物呢？除非先把那壯漢捆綁起來，才有可能搶劫他的家。

人們出來看個究竟，到了耶穌那裡，發現那曾被鬼附身的人衣著整齊、神智清醒地坐在耶穌腳前，他們都很害怕。目擊者把事情的始末告訴了他們。

目睹這件事的人向他們講述整個經過。

那天，大衛懼怕上帝，他說：「我怎能將上帝的約櫃運到我這裡？」

儘管有人多次用鐵鏈和腳鐐鎖住他，但他掙斷了鐵鏈，砸碎了腳鐐。沒有人能制伏他。
