Will You restrain Yourself at these things, Lord? Will You keep silent and afflict us beyond measure?

If you will search for God And implore the compassion of the Almighty,If you are pure and upright, Surely now He will stir Himself for you And restore your righteous estate.

Will the Lord reject forever? And will He never be favorable again?Has His favor ceased forever? Has His promise come to an end forever?Has God forgotten to be gracious, Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? SelahThen I said,“ It is my grief, That the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

And at noon Elijah ridiculed them and said,“ Call out with a loud voice, since he is a god; undoubtedly he is attending to business, or is on the way, or is on a journey. Perhaps he is asleep, and will awaken.”So they cried out with a loud voice, and cut themselves according to their custom with swords and lances until blood gushed out on them.When midday was past, they raved until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice; but there was no voice, no one answered, and no one paid attention.

For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” Says your God.“ For a brief moment I abandoned you, But with great compassion I will gather you.In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting favor I will have compassion on you,” Says the Lord your Redeemer.

Why do You stand far away, Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the needy; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

And they came to Him and woke Him, saying,“ Save us, Lord; we are perishing!”

Why do you say, Jacob, and you assert, Israel,“ My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”?Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is unsearchable.

But Zion said,“ The Lord has abandoned me, And the Lord has forgotten me.”“ Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.

Look down from heaven and see from Your holy and glorious lofty habitation; Where are Your zeal and Your mighty deeds? The stirrings of Your heart and Your compassion are restrained toward me.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; Awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the dragon?Was it not You who dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; Who made the depths of the sea a pathway For the redeemed to cross over?

Wake Yourself up, why do You sleep, Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever.Why do You hide Your face And forget our affliction and oppression?

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Far from my help are the words of my groaning.My God, I cry out by day, but You do not answer; And by night, but I have no rest.

They came up to Jesus and woke Him, saying,“ Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm.

and Jacob’s well was there. So Jesus, tired from His journey, was just sitting by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

Even when I cry out and call for help, He shuts out my prayer.
