Then Peter replied to Him,“ Explain this parable to us.”“ Are even you still lacking in understanding?” He asked.“ Don’t you realize that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is eliminated?But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this defiles a man.For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.These are the things that defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”

Then He dismissed the crowds and went into the house. His disciples approached Him and said,“ Explain the parable of the weeds in the field to us.”He replied:“ The One who sows the good seed is the Son of Man;the field is the world; and the good seed— these are the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,and the enemy who sowed them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.Therefore, just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather from His kingdom everything that causes sin and those guilty of lawlessness.They will throw them into the blazing furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s kingdom. Anyone who has ears should listen!

Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

When He was alone with the Twelve, those who were around Him asked Him about the parables.

Then He told them,“ These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.He also said to them,“ This is what is written: The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day,

When He went into the house away from the crowd, the disciples asked Him about the parable.And He said to them,“ Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that nothing going into a man from the outside can defile him?For it doesn’t go into his heart but into the stomach and is eliminated.”( As a result, He made all foods clean.)Then He said,“ What comes out of a person— that defiles him.For from within, out of people’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immoralities, thefts, murders,adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, promiscuity, stinginess, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.All these evil things come from within and defile a person.”

Then His disciples asked Him,“ What does this parable mean?”So He said,“ The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so that Looking they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.
