And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

耶稣又对他们说：“人拿灯来，岂是要放在斗底下，床底下，不放在灯台上吗？

耶稣继续说：“人会把灯拿来放在篮子底下或床底下吗？当然不会，他一定会把它放在灯台上。

耶稣又对他们说：“灯难道是拿来放在量器底下或床底下的吗？它不是该放在灯台上吗？

耶稣又对他们说：“油灯拿进来，难道是为了放在斗底下，或床底下吗？不是为了放在灯台上吗？

耶穌又對他們說：「人拿燈來，豈是要放在斗底下，牀底下，不放在燈臺上嗎？

耶穌又對他們說：「人拿燈來，難道是要放在斗底下，床底下，而不放在燈臺上嗎？

耶穌又對他們說：「人拿燈來，難道是要放在斗底下，床底下，而不放在燈臺上嗎？

耶穌繼續說：「人會把燈拿來放在籃子底下或床底下嗎？當然不會，他一定會把它放在燈臺上。

耶穌又對他們說：“燈難道是拿來放在量器底下或床底下的嗎？它不是該放在燈臺上嗎？

耶穌對他們說：『燈來了，哪是要放在斗底下或床底下呢？不是要放在燈臺上麼？

耶穌又對他們說：「油燈拿進來，難道是為了放在斗底下，或床底下嗎？不是為了放在燈臺上嗎？

又曰、人攜燈豈置斗下牀下乎、非檠上耶、

耶穌又曰、人以燈至、豈置斗下床下耶、非置之臺上耶、

耶穌又謂之曰、人取燈來、豈為置於斗下床下、非為置於燈臺乎、

耶穌又謂其徒曰：『人之燃燈、將置之斗中、床下乎？抑置於燈臺之上乎？

He said to them,“ Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?

Jesus said to them,“ Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a large bowl or a bed? Don’t you put it on its stand?

And he said to them,“ Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand?

Then Jesus asked them,“ Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.

He also said to them,“ Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket or under a bed? Isn’t it to be put on a lampstand?

And He was saying to them,“ A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, or under a bed, is it? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?

Also He said to them,“ Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?

And he said unto them, Is the lamp brought to be put under the bushel, or under the bed, and not to be put on the stand?

He also said to them,“ Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket or under a bed? Isn’t it to be put on a lampstand?

He also said to them,“ A lamp isn’t brought to be put under a basket or under a bed, is it? Isn’t it to be placed on a lampstand?

He said to them,“ Is the lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Isn’t it put on a stand?

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth[ it] in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth[ it] under a bed; but setteth[ it] on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.Be not ye therefore partakers with them.For ye were sometimes darkness, but now[ are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:( For the fruit of the Spirit[ is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove[ them].For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
