Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

What is seed scattered on a path like? The message is planted. The people hear the message. Then Satan comes. He takes away the message that was planted in them.

And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.

The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message, only to have Satan come at once and take it away.

so that we may not be exploited by Satan( for we are not ignorant of his schemes).

When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches what was sown in his heart; this is the seed sown along the path.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.

But they were indifferent and went away, one to his farm, another to his business.

But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first said to him,‘ I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please excuse me.’Another said,‘ I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going out to examine them. Please excuse me.’

Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of the land?

The arrival of the lawless one will be by Satan’s working with all kinds of miracles and signs and false wonders,

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.

Now when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from his prison

He seized the dragon– the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan– and tied him up for a thousand years.The angel then threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it so that he could not deceive the nations until the one thousand years were finished.( After these things he must be released for a brief period of time.)

Now the day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD– and Satan also arrived among them.The LORD said to Satan,“ Where have you come from?” And Satan answered the LORD,“ From roving about on the earth, and from walking back and forth across it.”So the LORD said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a pure and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil.”Then Satan answered the LORD,“ Is it for nothing that Job fears God?Have you not made a hedge around him and his household and all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock have increased in the land.But extend your hand and strike everything he has, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”So the LORD said to Satan,“ All right then, everything he has is in your power. Only do not extend your hand against the man himself!” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

Who would have believed what we just heard? When was the LORD’s power revealed through him?

Then Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law who were going to marry his daughters. He said,“ Quick, get out of this place because the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was ridiculing them.

Next I saw Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

Rather they had several points of disagreement with him about their own religion and about a man named Jesus who was dead, whom Paul claimed to be alive.Because I was at a loss how I could investigate these matters, I asked if he were willing to go to Jerusalem and be tried there on these charges.

Also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him, and some were asking,“ What does this foolish babbler want to say?” Others said,“ He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods.”( They said this because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)So they took Paul and brought him to the Areopagus, saying,“ May we know what this new teaching is that you are proclaiming?For you are bringing some surprising things to our ears, so we want to know what they mean.”

So that huge dragon– the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world– was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.

And see to it that no one becomes an immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.

Now when they heard about the resurrection from the dead, some began to scoff, but others said,“ We will hear you again about this.”

But just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews,“ If it were a matter of some crime or serious piece of villainy, I would have been justified in accepting the complaint of you Jews,but since it concerns points of disagreement about words and names and your own law, settle it yourselves. I will not be a judge of these things!”Then he had them forced away from the judgment seat.So they all seized Sosthenes, the president of the synagogue, and began to beat him in front of the judgment seat. Yet none of these things were of any concern to Gallio.

Then Jesus said to him,“ Go away, Satan! For it is written:‘ You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

and as they were leaving they said to one another,“ This man is not doing anything deserving death or imprisonment.”Agrippa said to Festus,“ This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.”
