Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

What is seed scattered on a path like? The message is planted. The people hear the message. Then Satan comes. He takes away the message that was planted in them.

And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.

The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message, only to have Satan come at once and take it away.

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back[ part] of the price of the land?

[ Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest,[ is]?For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Lest there[ be] any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this[ matter].

And when Paul was now about to open[ his] mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O[ ye] Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:But if it be a question of words and names, and[ of] your law, look ye[ to it]; for I will be no judge of such[ matters].And he drave them from the judgment seat.Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat[ him] before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
