Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

The seed along the path are those who have heard and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his schemes.

When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.

But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

“ But they paid no attention and went away, one to his own farm, another to his business,

“ But without exception they all began to make excuses. The first one said to him,‘ I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. I ask you to excuse me.’“ Another said,‘ I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m going to try them out. I ask you to excuse me.’

For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.

As he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison

He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the thousand years were completed. However, do not lay a hand on Job himself.” So Satan left the LORD’s presence.

Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were going to marry his daughters.“ Get up,” he said.“ Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.

Instead they had some disagreements with him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, a dead man Paul claimed to be alive.Since I was at a loss in a dispute over such things, I asked him if he wanted to go to Jerusalem and be tried there regarding these matters.

So the great dragon was thrown out— the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.

And make sure that there isn’t any immoral or irreverent person like Esau, who sold his birthright in exchange for a single meal.

When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some began to ridicule him, but others said,“ We’d like to hear from you again about this.”

As Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews,“ If it were a matter of wrongdoing or of a serious crime, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you Jews.But if these are questions about words, names, and your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of such things.”So he drove them from the tribunal.And they all seized Sosthenes, the leader of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the tribunal, but none of these things mattered to Gallio.

Then Jesus told him,“ Go away, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.”

and when they had left they talked with each other and said,“ This man is not doing anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”Agrippa said to Festus,“ This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.”
